How to do End-to-End encryption

When do End-to-End encryption on WhatsApp, each of our chats will have its own security code used to verify your calls and messages you send to the chat are end-to-end encryption.

Step 1. Open the chat on your WhatsApp, tap on the name of the contact to open the contact info screen.

Step 2. Now tap on “Encryption” to check the QR code and 60-digit number.

And if your contact and you are next to each other, you can also scan her QR code directly. When finish scanning, it’ll shows green check mark.

If your contact have re-installed WhatsApp on their iPhone, you can send them a new messages, then scan the QR code. Otherwise, the code won’t match.

What happens when WhatsApp messages are not end-to-end encrypted

It always happen that your have tapped on “Encryption” on the chat, but it still shows the messages are not end-to-end encrypted. It may be because you or your contact haven’t update their WhatsApp to the latest version. So just update it.
