What to do when Touch ID doesn't work

Touch ID is the official name for fingerprint reader on our iPhone iPad, when it doesn’t work, it means we have problem with unlocking our iPhone iPad, or confirm payment. So what to do when Touch ID doesn’t work?

Maybe you have read some posts about how to fix your Touch ID doesn’t work issue, and learn some skills about it. But have you tried those methods? Now follow below steps and try to fix your Touch ID doesn’t work issue.

Downgrade iOS Version

If your Touch ID doesn’t work due to the updating of your iOS version, now you can downgrade it, and wait for the release of new iOS version.

Because sometimes iOS updates may degrade performance.

Enter Password

When we didn’t use Touch ID to unlock our iPhone iPad for more than 8 hours, it may need us to input our password to unlock our iPhone iPad, instead of place our finger on Touch ID sensor.

So it means we couldn’t unlock our iPhone with Touch ID right now, unless we unlock it with passwords, then we can use Touch ID to do other things, it’s Apple’s rule.

Add a New Fingerprint

When the fingerprint on the finger you set isn’t clear, you will have problem of unlocking your iPhone iPad, then we can delete the old fingerprint and set a new one.

1.go to Setting--Touch ID & Passcode, then enter your password.

2.then we’ll enter the new page, and see all the fingerprint we have set.

3.now find the one we need to delete, swipe it from right to left to delete it.

4.When finish deleting it, tap on “Add a Fingerprint”. and retain your Touch ID.

Other Issues of Touch ID
1.When our Touch ID sensor is broken, or have some dirt on it, it can also affect the use of it. So when we encounter this issue, you can clean it, or go to Apple store for help.

2.when the weather is too cold and you’re out side, you can go in side and warm your hands, then try again.

3.if your finger is wet, Touch ID will also doesn’t work, so please dry you finger and make it clean.
