iPhone couldn't be restored, what to do?

“When I try to restore my iPhone, it always pop up an error unknown message, how could i fix iPhone couldn’t be restored issue?”

It’s a quite common issue when we use iTunes to restore our iPhone iPad, and there are some solutions here, and we’ll need to use recovery mode to restore our iPhone. See below steps and have a try.

Set Recovery Mode to Restore iPhone

Before doing it, please make sure your iTunes is with latest version.

Step 1. Connect your iPhone with PC, and launch iTunes on your PC. When your iPhone is recognized by your PC, force restart your iPhone with below steps.

iPhone X/8/8Plus: Press volume up button and quickly release it; press volume down button and quickly release it; then press power button and hold on until you see it connects to iTunes screen.

iPhone 7/7Plus or earlier: press power button and home button together and hold on until you see the connect to iTunes screen.



Step 2. When it pops up a message with options “Restore” and “Update”, click “Update”. Then iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing you data. Wait for a while until iTunes download the software for your iPhone. When finish it, force restart your iPhone again.



Step 3. After restoring, set up your iPhone.

Backup iPhone Data when iPhone Couldn’t be Restored
