We usually do backup in iTunes and iCloud, then we’ll realize we couldn’t access our iPhone data from those backup files directly. Fortunately, there is a way can help us access photos in iTunes directly, but we may need the help of third-party software iRefone.

Access Photos from iTunes Directly
Now we’ll see how iRefone help us access iTunes directly.
Step 1. Run iRefone, launching your iTunes and make sure it’s with latest version. When recognized, all your files in iTunes backup will show up.
Step 2. Click “Select” at the end of files you need, then we’ll enter the new interface with text data icon and media data icon that iRefone can recover. Tap on “Photo” icon, and it’ll be scanned by iRefone.
Step 3. Wait a second for scanning, then you can preview the photo you need, if you need to restore them, you can choose and restore them selectively by click “Recover to PC”, then choose folder path to save them.

Also we know iTunes backup files are stored on PC, so we can find those files directly from our PC folder.
See below folder address and find your photos:
For Windows: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
For Mac ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
